Dark web

The dark web is a part of the internet that needs special software to reach and hides who runs its sites. Criminal marketplaces there trade stolen data.

Not everything on the dark web is criminal: journalists and people in censored countries use the same tools for privacy.

But it hosts markets where stolen logins, card numbers and identity documents are bought and sold, often in bulk and cheaply.

If your data appears in a leak, change that password and any account where you reused it, turn on MFA, and watch your bank statements.
