Filter bubble

A filter bubble is when an app keeps showing you content that matches what you already watch or believe, so you see less of other views and topics.

Feeds are personalised by algorithms. The more you watch one kind of video, the more of it you get, until it can seem as if everyone thinks the same way.

Inside a bubble, extreme or one-sided content can start to feel normal, and it gets harder to spot misinformation.

To widen your view, follow different kinds of accounts, check news from more than one source and ask yourself what you might not be seeing.
