Vishing

Vishing is voice phishing: a phone call in which a scammer poses as a bank, the police, tech support or a colleague to get money, codes or access.

Vishing callers often know a few details about you, which makes them sound real. They may fake the caller ID so the call seems to come from a real number.

Typical requests are to move money to a "safe account", read out a one-time code, or install remote access software.

Hang up and call back on a number you look up yourself, such as the one on your bank card. No real bank asks you to move money to keep it safe.
